Shikoku Seto Inland Sea Region Cycling Tour

Shikoku is the smallest of the four main Japanese Islands and much of the island borders the almost Mediterranean Seto Inland Sea Regin. This unique climate and scenery as well as the ease of access makes this nearly weeklong tour a great opportunity for guests to explore the island of Shikoku.
Day 1
After gathering at Takamatsu Port, you will meet your guide and then take the ferry to Shōdoshima. On Shōdoshima, guests will enjoy a day of cycling exploring the highlights of this largely self-sufficient island including olive groves, soy-sauce breweries dating back to Japan’s medieval-era, local coastline, and mountain temples. The evening will be spent on the island.
Day 2
After breakfast at the hotel, you will take a ferry back to Takamatsu City where you will then travel to Tokushima Prefecture’s Naruto Region. Here you will again cycle along the coastline to take in the unique scenery of this region where the calm waters of the Seto Inland Sea meet the crashing waves of the Pacific. The lodging for this day will be on the Tokushima coastline.
Day 3
In the morning, you will be brought by private car the blue waters of the Nakatsu Gorge amid the mountains of Kōchi Prefecture. Here you will enjoy a change of scenery as coastline transforms into the flowing blue waters of the Niyodogawa River and the shadows of distant mountains. After a day of cycling in this relaxing scenery, you will be brought to your lodging located in this unique region.
Day 4
After checking-out from your hotel, you will spend the day cycling amid the mountain scenery of Kōchi and Ehime Prefectures on your way to Matsuyama City. Along the way, you and your guide will stop at local towns to absorb the local color. The lodging will be near Dōgo Onsen in Matsuyama City.
Day 5
In the morning you will be brought to Imabari in Northern Ehime overlooking the chain of islands set in the blue waters of the Seto Inland Sea. For much of the day you will cycle along the Shimanami Kaidō high above the sea which connects these islands. After a day spent enjoying this coastal scenery your will spend the night at a local inn on one of these islands.
