Walking Ohenro Temple: Temple #21 Tairyūji-Temple #20 Kakurinji

A daytrip from Tokushima that allows guests to experience a portion of the 88-Temlpe Shikoku Pilgrimage, a nearly 1,200 km long pilgrimage trail that connects each of Shikoku’s four prefectures.
Day 1
After using both rail and bus line to reach the Tairyūji ropeway station, you and your guide will take the ropeway to Tairyūji. This ropeway will pass over the Kamogawa River as well as several mountain peaks, allowing for sweeping views of the local area.
After exploring the forested grounds of Tairyūji, you will be led down the pilgrimage trail that passes through mountain trails, streams, and the rolling countryside of Tokushima Prefecture. Eventually, this trail will again lead into forested mountains that conceal Kakurinji from the outside world.
Afterwards, both you and your guide will descend the mountain trail towards a nearby local market where after a well-deserved rest you will take at taxi to a local train station that will bring you back to Tokushima City.
